A personal piece. I always loved to explore the idea of how sophisticated and complex technological structures can appear absolutely abstract, like a postmodernist painting to a person who does not have the understanding of the purpose of the object he/she is witnessing. The sight of unknown and abstract technology often calls to the deepest, most primal subliminal instincts of the human psychology, often resonating in humans with a Lovecraftian fear, because mostly we are afraid of what we do not understand. And this fear always grows proportionally with the size/scale of the witnessing objects and the lack of comprehension of its meaning and purpose. So this piece is my exploration on those emotions, my try to understand others and myself on what and why is sometimes present in our human technocratic civilization and its achievements what sometimes feels off, unnatural or sometimes even horribly wrong.

The piece is modeled in Blender, shaded using procedural shaders and rendered in Cycles + some post-production in Photoshop. I hope you like it 😆😆😆
